The theme of International Yoga Day 2022

On June 21, 2015, the first International Day of Yoga was witnessed in 2014, and the United Nations General Assembly formalized that day. In his 2014 address to the United Nations, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed that the day be observed on June 21st because it is the lengthiest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.

The 8th International Yoga Day, with the thematic “Yoga for Humanity,” will be observed around the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the theme in his ‘Maan Ki Baat’ address on May 30, 2022.

After much thought and consideration and counseling, the Ministry of Ayush chose the theme for International Yoga Day 2022, which will be observed on June 21, 2022, in India and around the world. Mysuru, Karnataka, will host the main event of International Yoga Day 2022.

The International Yoga Day 2022 theme, ‘Yoga for Humanity,’ perfectly captures how yoga aided humanity in alleviating harm during the high point of the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme also aims to emphasize how, even in a post-Covid global political situation, yoga can play a significant role in connecting people through compassion and kindness, as well as increasing resilience and fostering a feeling of togetherness.

Yoga is a practice that gives hope, wellbeing, and tranquility from the inside, and it deepens a sense of constant correlation between an individual’s power of the mind and the outer reality, according to Union Minister for Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal. He went on to say that International Yoga Day 2022 will be a huge success in spreading the theme around the world.

The 8th edition of the International Day of Yoga will feature several new projects, along with an imaginative program called “Guardian Ring,” which will highlight the sun’s motion and involve people from all over the world performing yoga in sync with the sun’s movement, starting in the east and trooping west.

The event will be a fantastic Relay Yoga Streaming event that will be broadcast live on DD channels.
