Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wins crucial bypoll

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, had to run in the by-election to become a participant of the Uttarakhand State Assembly. Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, has won a crucial by-poll to keep his job as the hill state’s chief minister. After losing the Uttarakhand Assembly polls in 2022 earlier this year, Pushkar Singh Dhami ran from Champawat. Dhami won by an edge of 55,025 votes, according to the Indian Election Commission.

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was among the first to applaud Pushkar Singh Dhami for his victory. The Prime Minister also thanked Uttarakhand voters for their support for the state’s ruling party, the Bharatiya Janata Party.

It was a constitutional provision that he had to meet within six months of someone being sworn in as Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister. In the state assembly elections in February 2022, Dhami was defeated by Khatima. During the state assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party campaigned hard for Pushkar Singh Dhami, as did Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Pushkar Singh Dhami won the Champawat bypoll in the state, defeating Congress’ Nirmala Gahotri and Samajwadi Party’s Manoj Kumar Bhatt, as well as an individual candidate in Himanshu Garkoti. Nirmala Gahotri of the Congress received 3,607 votes in the bypoll, and the opposition party has already lost their down payments on the chair for the first time.

The Congress is leading in Kerala’s Thrikkakara Assembly seat, according to the Election Commission. Meanwhile, the BJP is contesting the byelections in Kerala by fielding veteran leader A N Radhakrishnan.

In Odisha, a by-election is being held in Brajrajnagar purpose of the framework of the Jharsuguda district. Even though the fact that 11 candidates were running, the constituency was dominated by a triangular fight between BJP, BJP, and Congress applicants. The Uttarakhand Assembly elections of 2022 were held in February as well as the announcement was made in March for 70 seats in the state legislature.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had a comfortable victory in the elections, winning 47 seats. The Congress had received 19, the BSP had received two, and two independents had also received votes.

Following the announcement of the results, the BJP named Pushkar Singh Dhami as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
