Taj Mahotsav is his 10-day (18-27 February) event held annually at Silpgram, Agra, India? The festival is inspired by the Mughal and Nawabi styles prevalent in Uttar Pradesh in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The festival begins with a street procession of elephants and camels decorated like a triumphal procession of Mughal emperors and warlords. Hosted by the Tourism Board of India, Taj Mahotsav is primarily dedicated to promoting the country’s rich arts and crafts, culture, cuisine, dance, and music. In fact, it serves as a tribute not only to artisans across the country but also to representatives of art, music, and cuisine.

One of the most anticipated festivals, the Taj Mahotsav Agra is celebrated from the 18th to the 27th of February every year at Shilpugram near the east gate of the ‘Taj Mahal’.

History

Taj Mahotsav is his 10 days carnival organized by the Uttar Pradesh Ministry of Tourism. It aims to go beyond Indian tourism for both local and international tourists. Held annually near the east gate of the Taj Mahal, the festival showcases the finest arts, crafts, and folk dances from different regions. Around 400 artisans from different parts of India present their works of art during the Taj Mahotsav. Artwork includes bamboo/cane works from Northeast India, wood/stone carvings from Tamil Nadu, marble and Zardoji works from Agra, pulp works from South India and Kashmir, Kantha sculptures from West Bengal, and handprints of Farkhabad. , also includes Kashmir cloth and carpets. / Gujarat from Banaras, Silk, and Zari works, Chikan works from Lucknow, Handmade Carpets from Badhi, and more.

2023 Taj Mohotsav details 

Taj Mahotsav 2023 will be held in Silpgram, a famous handicraft village in Agra city. Silpgram Village is not far from the white mausoleum known as the Taj Mahal. He is commemorated from February 18th to 27th each year. The date for the 2023 Taj His Mahotsav has not yet been announced.

For children:

Admission tickets to Taj Mahotsav 2023 are very affordable, so get ready for this celebration and have a good time. Free admission for children under 5 years old.

adult:

Adults have to pay an entrance fee of approximately INR 40 per person.

For elementary school students:

School groups of 100 children must come to see the handicrafts and culinary extravaganza with an entry fee of around INR 500. However, two teachers in a class of 100 students can participate for free.

For foreigners:

The Uttar Pradesh Ministry of Tourism warmly welcomes international visitors to join the 2023 Taj His Mahotsav free of charge.
