National Defence Academy & Naval Academy (I) and (II) Exam

The UPSC administers the NDA exam, which is required for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA. This exam serves as a stepping stone for aspirants interested in joining the Armed forces, Marine corps, or Air Wing.

NDA I and NDA II are national-level exams held twice per year to assist candidates in pursuing a career in the military. The National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA & NA) Examination will be a two-step procedure in which candidates must first pass the exam and then pass the Service Selection Board’s personality assessment or question and answer session (SSB). The UPSC is merely responsible for granting selection guidelines and overseeing the final administration of the entrance exam.

The Supreme Court issued an interim injunction on August 18 allowing women to take the UPSC National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA & NA) exam. The Supreme Court has ordered the responsible authorities to make the appropriate provisions to allow women to take the UPSC NDA (II) exam.
