There is excitement among married women on this day. Newly married women used to wear a red saree or lehnga by putting red vermilion and cooking delicious food to offer to the moon and then go for making an offering to the moon. 

Even women’s started preparing a month prior to the Karwa Chauth as they prepare by shopping for clothes for themselves and for their husbands, putting Mahanadi on both hands with beautiful dress-up and make-up for their husbands.

Women eat Sargai in the morning which offers by in-laws and after that, she is restricted to eat anything until the moon rises.  After having Sargi the women collectively recite the Karwa Chauth auspicious belief or the story, then collect and tied some rice in their dupatta and use that rice at the time of offering water to the moon. 

And this water offering is called the “Jal Arpit” to the moon than with the rise of the moon women used to see their husband’s face through some transparent object from which first she sees the moon then the husband’s face and breaks her fast with her husband blessings.
