The African National Congress Foundation Day is usually January 8th of each year. On this particular day, Africans took up arms and fought the British colonists for their rights. The South African Indigenous Peoples Congress was established in Bloemfontein as the South African Indigenous Peoples Congress. The organization’s goal was to bring together all black people in South Africa to gain their rights and freedoms.

African National Congress Foundation Day was a turning point in African history, marking the end of centuries of exploitation and humiliation on the continent.

The South African Indigenous Congress (SANNC) was founded on 8 January 1912 in Bloemfontein. Their mission was to fight for black rights in South Africa, unite all Africans and defend their rights and freedoms. It meant giving black and multiracial South Africans full voting rights. It also abolished the apartheid regime imposed by the National Party government after the National Party won the 1948 elections. The ANC is said to have been founded during a time when South Africa was developing.

The mine boss needed a large number of personnel to work in the mine. Laws and taxes, on the other hand, were made to force people to leave their countries. The toughest law was the Land Act of 1913. Banned Africans from buying, leasing, or using land, except for reservations.

SANNC campaigned against the passports required for South African blacks until 1919. It then gained importance in the mid-1920s. A broad union, the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) was formed in 1919 and was the most active and popular organization in both rural and urban areas.

The Communist Party became the first non-racist political organization in South Africa. In the 1920s, government policy became tougher and more prejudiced. As a result, color wars were launched to prevent blacks from becoming semi-skilled workers in some industries. In addition, blacks were paid low wages for unskilled labor.

SANNC was renamed the African National Congress in 1923 and supported the militant miners’ strike of 1929.
